Oleochemicals
The chemistry of renewable raw materials
Pure vegetable products – sustainably certified
Oleochemistry – formerly also called fat chemistry – is based on the processing of vegetable and animal fats, which in chemistry are called triglycerides. These consist of one part glycerol linked via ester bonds with three fatty acids. The fatty acid residues consist of saturated, mono- or polyunsaturated, unbranched or branched carbon chains. Many derivatives are generated from these building blocks, e.g., fatty alcohols, stearates, esters or soap raw materials. With its diverse products, oleochemistry offers sustainable alternatives to petrochemical products.
Our range of oleochemicals is derived from natural, renewable and sustainable raw materials. The products of our supply partners have been firmly established for years in a wide range of application areas. Our products can be found in detergents, construction chemicals, plastics and lubricants as well as in cosmetics and food & feed.
